The “Modern History” Department

The “Modern History” Department

The studies of the Modern History Department are chronologically determined by two milestone events – the Liberation of Bulgaria in 1878 and the date 09.09.1944. Priority is given to topics such as the economic, public-political and cultural-educational life of the town of Vratsa and its vicinity during that period.

The main fund of the department, accounting for over 30,000 original items, is exclusively diversified in terms of content and it comprises valuable documents, photographs, and personal belongings of prominent people from Vratsa, institutions and organizations that lived and were active in the end of the 19th c. and the first half of the 20th c..
