Hristo Botev – place of historical memory

In 2025, the Regional Historical Museum in Vratsa applied to the Municipal Culture Fund for financial support for the development of a mobile exhibition dedicated to Hristo Botev and his detachment, after which the project was approved. The text and photo material was prepared by the chief curator of the “Department of History of Bulgaria 15th – 19th centuries” Neli Stoyanova, and the technical and artistic production was the work of the Creative Center IRT – Ivaylo Ratsov.

The mobile exhibition “Hristo Botev – place of historical memory” consists of 25 information boards that trace the organization and path of the detachment, facts and photo material about the key battles, as well as the death of the voivode. Separate panels are dedicated to the Botev monuments, the Botev commemorations after the Liberation, the commissions for determining the poet’s burial place, the creation of the “Botev Path” memorial complex, the international Botev Award, etc. A comprehensive, richly illustrated and informative monument to Botev’s work.

The exhibition is suitable in terms of content for both adults, children and students. It’s contents can be found useful by people fascinated with history, as well as by all patriotic Bulgarians, for whom the name of Hristo Botev is a cause for national pride and honor.
