Jug of the Godes Mother

Върху тялото на каната е представен фриз от две изображения на Великата тракийска богиня, която язди лъвица и е изобразена с лък и стрела. Представена е и сцената “лъв напада кошута”. Изображенията предават иконографския образ на Великата тракийска богиня според митологичните представи на траките. Тя е повелителка на природата и покровителка не само на природните стихии, но и на животинския свят. Формата на съда и украсата носят белезите на самобитното тракийско изкуство.

La panse est ornée de deux scènes figurant la grande déesse thrace chevauchant une lionne, une flèche et un arc dans la main droite. Ces représentations sont complétées par une troisième scène représentant un lion attaquant une biche. Dans toutes ces représentations, figure la déesse la plus vénérée du panthéon des divinités thraces- Bendide, maîtresse de la nature et des forces sauvages, protectrice des animaux. La forme et la décoration portent l’empreinte de l’art thrace local.

On the body of the jug is a frieze of two images of the Great Thracian goddess, who rides a lioness and is depicted with a bow and arrow. The scene “a lion attacks a hind” is also presented. The images convey the iconographic image of the Great Thracian Goddess according to the mythological notions of the Thracians. She is the mistress of nature and the patron saint not only of natural elements, but also of the animal world. The shape of the vessel and the decoration bear the marks of the original Thracian art.
