Черепишко четвероевангелие от 1618 г.
Най-ценното на четвероевангелието, с големина 31/20 см, е релефният обков от сребро с позлата на кориците. Обковът е дело на майсторите от Чипровската школа Никола и Пала от 1616 г. На лицевата страна върху сравнително малката площ са изографисани библейските сцени на Разпятието и Възкресението, а на гърба – Благовещението и Въздвижението на честния кръст. Съпътства ги цяла галерия от персонажи с калиграфски изписани имена. След настоятелна молба на Врачанския митрополит Калиник четвероевангелието, този безценен образец на българското средновековно калиграфско и ювелирно изкуство, е било върнато на врачани след 30 г.
По първоначални сведения през 1980 г. Черепишкото четвероевангелие е взето заедно с други три предмета за да участват в изложба на българското средновековно изкуство и не са върнати. При завръщането му във Враца заедно с напрестолния кръст, потира и дарохранителницата биват изложени редом до частицата от мощите на св. Кирил в историческата Вознесенска черква.
L’évangéliaire de Tchérépich
Les dimensions de l’évangéliaire sont 31/20 cm. Il est incrusté en 1618 par les maîtres de l’école de Tchiprovtzi Nikola et Pala. Sur son parement sont figurés des scènes bibliques de la Crussification et de la Ressurrection, et sur son dos – de l’Annonciation et de l’Elévation du croix saint. Il y a aussi plusieurs personnages, dont les noms sont inscriptés d’une manière caligraphique.
En 1980 l’évangéliaire de Tchérépich pris part à une exposition de l’ancien art bulgare. Après son retour à Vratza, il est exposé à l’église historique „Saint Sofronii Vratchanski“, auprès des reliques de Saint Cyrile.
Cherepish Four Gospels from 1618
The most valuable of the four gospels, with a size of 31/20 cm, is the embossed silver fitting with gilding on the covers. The fittings are the work of the masters from the Chiprovtsi school Nikola and Pala from 1616. The biblical scenes of the Crucifixion and Resurrection are decorated on the obverse on the relatively small area, and on the back – the Annunciation and the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. They are accompanied by a whole gallery of characters with calligraphic names. After an urgent request of the Metropolitan of Vratsa – Kalinik, the Four Gospels, this invaluable example of the Bulgarian medieval calligraphic and jewelry art, was returned to the people of Vratsa after 30 years.
According to initial information, in 1980 the Cherepish Four Gospels were taken together with three other objects to participate in an exhibition of Bulgarian medieval art and were not returned. Upon his return to Vratsa, together with the throne cross, the chalice and the treasury, they were exhibited next to the fragment of the relics of St. Cyril in the historic Church of the Ascension.
